PRIP Jennifer Jones to speak at the Rotary Club of Oakland
Past Rotary International President (PRIP) Jennifer Jones will speak at the Rotary Club of Oakland on November 2, 2023. The Oakland Rotary Club invites our Club members to join this meeting on Zoom for free. Log in by 12:20 PM. The meeting will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. CLICK HERE to reserve your space for the Zoom meeting.
 
That evening, all Rotarians and guests are invited to a dinner at Scott's Seafood at 2 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94607 in Jack London Square. Valet and secure parking are available. The cost is $110 per person to cover the cost of the event. Reception begins at 6 PM, and dinner will follow at 7 PM. If you want to attend, please buy tickets immediately. Dinner ticket sales end on October 25, 2023.

Rotarians, along with their families, guests, and fellow visiting Rotarians from all over the Bay Area, converged for an electrifying spectacle on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Picture this: a dazzling, front-row vantage point providing jaw-dropping vistas of the bustling Fisherman's Wharf and the mesmerizing expanse of the San Francisco Bay. What was the catalyst for this extraordinary gathering? None other than our Club's third annual Blue Angels Viewing Party Extravaganza!
 
Under a canopy of San Francisco's finest weather, amidst the sizzling backdrop of a heatwave weekend, the heavens painted a picture of azure perfection, setting the stage for an unforgettable Blue Angels' performance. The skies thundered with their majestic maneuvers, and the synchronized choreography of the Blue Angels left the audience in a state of utter spellbinding wonder, their hearts racing with pure exhilaration. The event's location, spaciousness, delicious food, and decorations all contributed perfectly to the occasion.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY November 4, 2023: Walk to End Alzheimer's
Join the members of the Rotary Club of San Francisco, their families, and their friends for the Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Preregistration for the Walk is required. After the Walk, there is an optional dim sum lunch.

Professor Ravinder Sehgal of the Department of Biology at San Francisco State University and a member of our Rotary Club joins us to talk about his work in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon.
 
SERVICE OPPORTUNITY November 7, 2023: Family House
Join Family House, a new grant partner for the Rotary Club of San Francisco, for an opportunity to set up, serve, and clean up dinner for their community. Event is limited to 10 people, and Rotarians may bring a guest. All must register. Volunteers are encouraged to wear Rotary-branded attire that can get dirty, as well as layers to be prepared for multiple weather conditions. Dinners will be served outside on the Family House patio.
CLUB SOCIAL and DEI EVENT November 12, 2023: Diwali Celebration
Join the party as our Club celebrates Diwali, India’s Festival of Lights. Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. After a delicious Indian lunch, we’ll watch the hit Bollywood movie Om Shanti Om, and then enjoy some traditional Indian sweets. All Club members, our families, and our friends are welcome.
 
E-MEETING November 14, 2023: John Rothmann and Politics in 2023
KGO 810 radio talk show host and political commentator John Rothmann, one of our most popular speakers, will discuss his thoughts about the political events in 2023. John always welcomes our questions. This is a Zoom-only meeting.
 
Thanksgiving at The Arc: November 21, 2023
It's time for one of our most popular service projects - Thanksgiving at The Arc San Francisco! In the spirit of giving thanks, Rotarians will gather to provide a Thanksgiving feast for participants at The Arc SF. Many hands are needed to either serve or be on the clean-up team; please sign up to help. This is the only Thanksgiving celebration for many of the people we serve that day. And they are most appreciative.
